It was during Ramadan the news was broken to her to inform her parents about everything she ever shared with Ustadh Abdul Waduud.
Zakiyyah was there in a nervous state, unsure of what to do.
She was in school preparing for her exams,oh what a best time ironically.
She didn't know how to go about it,all she knew was she had her Lord. The Lord that put her in this situation will find a way out for her,she trusted.
She made the first move by informing her sister, "Zakiyyah was scared all along." She couldn't explain better,at a point, her sister was confused.
What are you saying? Make yourself clear, her sister spilled.
Then, she finally wore the hat of confidence to do this ,she told her sister everything.
Mum has the best advice for this ,why not let her know? Says Zakiyyah's sister.
It finally dawned on her not to have any choice but to inform her parents. She couldn't tell over the phone ,maybe when I'm back home after my exams, she thought.
But before the exam, she fell sick and they were given a two day break, so her parents came to pick her up from school and headed to the hospital. There, the nurses were shocked by her rise in BP. How old are you, they asked. They called her mum's attention, and everyone let it pass because she wasn't feeling too well, but deep down, she knew her situation with her ustadh added to it.
She got home and was preparing for her exam. While reading, she got distracted by her thoughts on how to make her parents to be aware.
She finally had to do it just to let it off her chest and focus on her upcoming exam.
She found her mum sorting some paper, zakiyyah interrupted.
Mum,I want to see you , "she said.
Her mum, being the one who wants to listen, pended everything.
Her Lord guided her to narrate everything to her mum.
What's your career choice?Zakiyyah's mum asks.
I see myself having an online school ......she says.
That's just a part-time,her mum says.
Now I see you have something for tutoring, and here you can lecture in a university....he mum explains setting her career choice for her.
What's expected of a career woman?
Alright, I would inform your Dad about it when he comes and whatever we decide,we will let you know .
Zakiyyah couldn't control her excitements, she went to inform Abdul Waduud, and they both prayed that it turned out to be in their favour.
Abdul Waduud was already making a lot of promises.
Can someone just tell this young man to calm down,Zakiyyah thought?
Zakiyyah was about returning to school, but what's her returning to school without getting this situation sorted.
Her parents called her into their room, and the decision was made.
You two would have to wait till you have your B.A. in the bag, and by then, if he's still the one,he'll be welcomed. Her father says.
She was even praised to have informed them, which shows the qualities of a good Muslim child.
That statement rang in her head all through the night, and she was excited that he wasn't rejected.
She got back to school, and Abdul Waduud asked about the outcome, Zakiyyah narrated it the way she understood it, but she didn't know AbdulWaduud understood it the other way round.
She noticed AbdulWaduud giving some attitudes, she had to explain herself better when she found out he thought her parents didn't want him.
If my parents didn't want to you, they wouldn't have said if you are still the one after my degree, you're welcome,Zakiyyah thought.
It was during the penultimate year for Zakiyyah that she's getting closer to the end of her degree....it's getting closer ….. to tie the knot with Abdul Waduud, she thought.
She had planned how she was going to respond to her bridesmaid when they asked her, "How did you meet him?"
She was going to reply, "We met in Madrasah, he happens to be the Ustadh and I was the student, she thought.
She would constantly thought to herself; I never touched his hand, I never embraced him,we never looked at each other for long,we weren't brought together by a place or photo,it was just conversations. Why do I feel attached ,I don't know.
Abdul Waduud, on the other hand, decides to bring up how Zakiyyah was going to convince her parents for them to do Aqdu -Nikkah.
I thought you agreed to what my parents concluded..Zakiyyah asked.
Yes... but I was just feeling like it'll be more assured that way since I'll be travelling soon,Abdul Waduud responded.
I don't think I have the courage to bring anything relating to this issue with my parents after they've made it clear....Zakiyyah asserted.
Deep down, she really wanted it, but she accepted her parents' decision because she felt they understood better and wanted the best for her .
Abdul Waduud took it the other way round with the thought of "They don't want me" or what if at the end of the B.A. ,they finally said I can't get married to you, won't it be like I've been wasting my time all these years?"
Zakiyyah was fed up with the back and forth on the issue and with Abdul Waduud interpreting everything the other way round.
Why is the issue always happening during Ramadan and exam periods? She was already dealing with exam tension , and she couldn't just deal with this.
She was all along doing Istikhaarah ,though she really wanted him because Allah would be easy to please through him,she felt.
Abdul Waduud, please do what's best for you.
If you feel you can't wait anymore, you are totally free to go ahead with whomever your parents suggest you get married to,Zakiyyah asserted.
She wasn't ready to be bothered by it ,she had fought for it enough.
Whatever will happen will be the decree of Allah.

She would constantly reflect on her life motto which says
"Perhaps you dislike a thing and it's good for you and you may like a thing and it's bad for you, and Allah's knows what you know not.Q2 vs 219”
Zakiyyah had to relate the verse to the situation, and she just trusted her Lord.
The best will happen, bi idhnillah, she says.
She made herself clear and continued being friends, but now, on a neutral level, with Zakiyyah keeping it in mind that he might not really going to be hers.
On a fateful night, Zakiyyah thought to check up on AbdulWaduud, being a while they had conversed.
She asked out of genuine care how he was doing.
But AbdulWaduud felt she was worrying too much about him, which she doesn't need.
Truly, she doesn't need it because unknown to her Abdul Waduud had moved on........
She woke up to receive lots of voice notes and messages from Abdul Waduud.
Why so many long voice notes? Let me listen first, she says.

Upon listening to all the voice notes, she discovered that Abdul Waduud had finally seen another person whom they could be engaged in no time but he's taking his time to not rush things and discovered if that's what he truly wants.
He urged Zakiyyah to move on as he had finally moved on and told Zakiyyah to explain things to her siblings who knew them all along.
Zakiyyah responded with tears in her eyes, with the thought of never to have seen this coming, but here it is ,the last time to call you ,My Tall Bud . She thanked him for everything they shared and every teachings she got from him being her Ustadh. She prayed for him and wished him the best with his newfound favourite.
Jazakumullahu khayran for this....Abdul Waduud responded.
You can either unsave my contact or block me.....his final words.
Zakiyyah left with thought of 'I don't need to do any of that, you've stated everything clearly'.
All that isn't necessary ... we're now on different paths.
She narrated everything to her siblings and her mum, and they consoled Zakiyyah and prayed for her.
It was just left for Zakiyyah to brace up and accept Allah's decree.......the definition of some people come into your life to fulfil something, once it's fulfilled, accept it to be.
Love is a beautiful thing to experience, but maybe not the same experience when it comes at the wrong time.
In the end ,there's nothing so pleasing to the heart than the words of the lord of the heart.
What's more consoling during this period than to constantly admit that "Allah is Sufficient" if only you trust him and continue to in the middle of the storm.
"Your heartbreak isn't forever ,it can become your path to healing, to closeness with Allah, and to blessings you never imagined.
LET THE PAIN PURIFY YOU "....... extract from I am soft hearted by Abu Mutmainah.
While she was in those healing phases, guess who called all of a sudden?
ABDULWADUUD
WHAT FOR?
YOU ALREADY KNOW.
HERE'S TO YOU
How would you interpret AbdulWaduud's coming back, and would you consider accepting him back?
Jazakumullahu khayran for reading UR'S Journal.
Till I write to you again,
I leave you in the care of the most high.
UR♡
I was hooked till the end🥹🤍✨
This is an emotional heartbreak story. 🥹
Perhaps he called back cos he's realized that waiting for another year won't cost a dime, or that the new relationship didn't work, or that the Best of Planners has willed that he'd be yours. 🥹
And Allah knows best.
Please, don't keep us hanging on the reason he called. ✨🤍
May Allah make healing bring you closer to him. ✨
(Make I order ice cream for my UR)😂🫴
From the beginning to the end, the story was captivating. Not only that, it has lessons imbibed in it. AbdulWadud coming back could either be fruitful or not. What if Zakiyyah has finally moved on and doesn't have any feelings for him again.
But then, if ALlah says he is the one for her , so be it!🥹
But again, may what we long for not first stress us unnecessarily.😂
